FCRA NOTICE

Your credit
rights with LotPilot.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) governs how consumer credit information can be collected, used, and shared. This notice explains how LotPilot and our dealer partners handle credit information when you pre-qualify for financing or apply for a loan.

Effective: May 22, 2026·Last updated: May 22, 2026

1. Who is the consumer reporting agency?

LotPilot is not a consumer reporting agency. When you pre-qualify or apply for financing through LotPilot, the credit inquiry is run by the lender or dealer you're working with, using a consumer reporting agency such as Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion. LotPilot facilitates the request but does not issue credit reports or scores.

2. Soft vs. hard inquiries

LotPilot's pre-qualification flow uses a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. A soft inquiry lets lenders estimate the rates and terms you might qualify for without committing.

If you choose to formally apply for a loan with a dealer, the lender will conduct a hard inquiry. A hard inquiry may appear on your credit report and could affect your score. You'll be told before a hard inquiry is run, and you must give explicit consent.

3. Your rights under the FCRA

The FCRA gives you, the consumer, the following rights:

  • You must be told if information in your file has been used against you.
  • You have the right to know what is in your credit file, and to dispute inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Consumer reporting agencies must correct or delete inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information.
  • You may seek damages from violators of the FCRA.
  • Identity theft victims and active-duty military have additional rights.

For the full Summary of Rights, see the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

4. What information LotPilot collects

LotPilot collects the information you provide to start a pre-qualification (name, address, date of birth, the last four digits of your SSN, employment and income) and forwards it to the lender or dealer you're working with. We do not store full Social Security numbers, and we do not share your info with parties other than the lender or dealer you've consented to.

5. Disputes and corrections

If you believe a credit-related decision made through LotPilot was based on inaccurate information, contact us first at [email protected], and we'll route you to the appropriate dealer or lender. You also have the right to contact the consumer reporting agency directly.
